Learning to Succeed – Succeeding to Learn

***************************************************************************************************

As we begin 2008, the year ahead is ours to define. The world of the Virtual Professional is exciting and vast. No matter what your specialty, broadening your skill set to include new areas of expertise is simply a win-win. Choosing a new software to learn or a new specialty to list on our resumes can, itself, be a challenge. The world of what we do not know can seem endless and overwhelming.

First of all, making time to take advantage of every single teleseminar and webinar offered through The Virtual Nation is an opportunity we should not miss. These “classes” are a chance to peek into a variety of areas and be introduced through top-notch industry experts and guides.
(Mark your calendar now, the fabulous next seminar is Tuesday, January 15.) Even if we choose not to grow in a particular direction, having a base of understanding about our industry will make us more knowledgeable to clients, colleagues and even the casual acquaintance.

If you visit The Virtual Nation’s page outlining our Expert Teleseminar Series for 2008, you will see a theme of JOY for the next several months. Choosing to JOYOUSLY move forward in our businesses and embrace the opportunities ahead of us is vitally important. As Virtual Professionals, we are our own stewards to success – that is a cause to celebrate!

Also, if you are an expert in an area and wish to share your knowledge with our VP community, why not apply to be a guest for this series? Just fill out the Speaker Intake Form at the bottom of this page.

We begin a new year. Take advantage of this new beginning and visit the TVN link to VA educational programs available in 2008. There are many resources available to consider, and many of these are available online and inexpensively. (Remember, continuing our educations to remain vital in our field is a tax deductible business expense, of course! Speak to your accountant for a few minutes to find out the parameters you need to meet.)

You can even download Free College Classes via Podcast from the renowned University of California, Berkeley. UC Berkley is making audio and video recordings of many course lectures available free to anyone - on campus or off - through Apple Computer's popular iTunes music store. The university has posted lectures from almost 30 courses, including seminars on computer science, psychology, and cyberculture, to the online store. Users of iTunes can download the lectures individually, or they can subscribe to semester-long podcasts, which transfer new sessions to their MP3 players when they connect those devices to their computers.

The entire team at TVN wishes you a prosperous and joyous 2008. Remember that we are here to answer your questions whenever possible and to offer business coaching to help you get started or to move to a new level of success in your business.

With Gratitude, Michelle Ulrich, Chief Villager and President
